Some publicity - well sort of!

I have discovered that MY NEW BOOKS are featured in the New "Mothers Day, David Jones" catalogue! I am pretty excited about this, and apparently it will also be available in Kmart and Target, along with general book stores! I must get my hands on some copies!

I encountered these fabulous kids tables by Micki at a recent Tradeshow here in Melbourne and instantly wanted ALL THREE! They all look great together, and I'd love to use them as coffee tables! Look at all of that great storage space underneath!

I also love this gorgeous wooden rocking horse.

The illustrations on all of these great products are by a Thomas Frohling and in my pursuits to find out more about this illustrator, I came across this wonderful website called Stockholm Illustration. There are some very talented illustrators featured here if you can find some time to explore!

This is another fabulous company that I am sure many of you are already familiar with, but they have always been a bit of a favourite of mine! And what a great name: BLA BLA! I used to knit quite a lot as a kid and it's products like these that make me want to get back into it!

Their website features some fabulous new products such as these great t-shirts, mobiles, and a sneak peak at some new colour palettes. It's a beautifully designed website and well worth a look.

These images speak for themselves! This Paris based Toy Company Djeco produce some stunning products and I was lucky enough to have a flick through one of their catalogues and it was truly inspiring! Their website is currently under construction, but their products are widely available both on-line or in stores.

OK- Now for that local element that I always like to add. You simply MUST check out this Sydney based on-line gallery/shop. They have scanned the globe for a unique mix of artists, designers and illustrators work that can all be sold in one great location. There is plenty of information on each of the artists, and I have selected a few to preview here. Click on their names to find out more:

Meredith Gaston, Kelly Boulton and Miriam Derville.

And a well known blogger:

That's it for this week. I hope to find some time to share some of my own work this week, as I seem to be all about Inspiration Monday these days! Anyway, thanks for your comments! They always "inspire" me into my week!

Welcome to another week full of potential creative bliss and pure inspiration! Here are a few things to spark the imagination.

I have always been a bit of a fan of Mamas and Papas, and while I appreciate the large corporate nature of this business, I can't help but be excited by how they have interpreted some of the crafting and handmade trends that are cropping up on a more commercial level.

I love the sophisticated colour palette of this "Made With Love" range, but those who know me well enough, might also realise that the lack of yellow in this palette contributes enormously to the appeal of these products to me!

I am sure that many of you are already familiar with this gorgeous letter press business Egg Press. For those of you who don't know they are based in Portand Oregon and are perhaps most well known for there greeting card range. However, I would have to say that it's this crafty "make your own" number that really caught my eye!

I have always had a bit of a fascination with finger puppets and I would love to find the time to have a go at making some. Check out these cute finger puppets from the Dwell Baby range. They almost seem simple enough for a novice like me to try my own range.

I also just loved this image from their site! Cute animals, but something about the photo and the composition just really caught my eye! (and no I'm NOT getting clucky, but COME ON - cute kid!)

Wall stickers for room decor seem to be rapidly gaining in popularity and I would have to admit that I can't wait to buy some myself, now that we are finally getting around to thinking about decorating our new home. Wall Candy Arts seem to do some gorgeous collections...

and I love the idea of the chalk board shapes below

I have featured this little Melbourne business before on my Inspiration Monday's but I noticed that they have a new wall sticker art design out now and I thought this would be a great chance to share it with you. Also check out some of their great cards and magnet sets on their website here.

Well I hope this little feature motivates you into a fabulous new week of creativity!

I was delighted to get a parcel from my publisher tonight containing their catalogue which now includes my NEW books, so I thought it was about time I revealed this project to you. Here's a "sneak peak" at some of the illustrations inside the books!

Many of you would be used to seeing my animal characters, so these illustrations are little bit of a step away from my usual work, but I am really pleased with how they have come together.

Obviously the text was added later and I will share more with you when I get the books, but here's the link to the publishers site just out of interest! I am very excited about them and can't wait to see them in stores. As I mentioned I have signed up for 6 of these wonderful books and I have already completed the next two in the series.

I am still trying to get my hands on the books, but for now I thought share the catalogue page with you here:

They are lovely little books designed to share thoughts and feelings about Mum or Gran! The books are quite interactive with areas for kids to actually colour in or to write their own thoughts about their Mum or Gran. Here's a colour in page:

Fun stuff, hey?

Has it really been two weeks since my past post?! Wow. I just can't keep up at the moment! It's been a crazy few weeks of finishing off the next two books in my 6 series contract (I will reveal a "sneak peak" in the next week or so as the first two are out in the stores now!), "whipping up" two baby apparel ranges, more big nights out (Priscilla, and Matchbox 20) a late netball game (10:25pm!!?), a trade show, and full time work! Phew!

Anyway, I thought it was time I got back to my blogging routine and put together another Inspiration Monday! (OK on a Sunday night tonight, but the intention is still the same - to inspire us all into a wonderfully creative week ahead!)

First up is some beautiful work by the very talented Amy Schimler.

Amy is one of a growing breed of illustrators who have turned their hand to “surface design”. She has created designs for greeting cards, children’s apparel and books, and has an impressive list of clients to her name: including Baby Gap, Target, Fisher Price and Hallmark.

Those crafty folk out there may already be familiar with Amy's amazing selection of fabrics which appear to be very popular with many of the etsy crafters. Amy’s blog is filled with lots of links and posts about where to find her work, as well as giving us a sneak peak into some of the things she is working on! It’s well worth a visit!

You can see more of Amy Schimler's wonderful work here at her website.

I have noticed Jane's work popping up in magazines and on blogs for the last few months and now that I am thinking about attempting some sort of mural art on the walls of our new place, I am particularly interested in her more delicate approach.

Jane is a Melbourne based artist who also paints and illustrates, but I would have to say that it is her mural work that really sparks my imagination. During my explorations to find out more about her I stumbled across a wonderful on-line store selling her artwork here. It's such gorgeous store that I could not resist featuring it in this Inspiration Monday post. Check it out below.

The Tiny People stores are located in Byron Bay NSW and Kirra Beach QLD in Australia, but thankfully they also have an on-line store here!

The website allows you to browse by designer or category and there are some wonderful treats to be found. Here are a couple of things to tease you with!

Kristen Loffer Theiss - I love the mobile!

Anne Claire Petit - makes me want to learn to crochet!

Anyway - I promise to not let another two weeks go by without blogging! I have caught up a bit with things now, so I hope to get back to some sort of normality! Enjoy your week!
