The Latest Ella and Olivia

I really love this one. It's the first time we have done a bright yellow background and I love it!

I have just placed an order for a set of mixed designs in the MOO MINI BUSINESS CARD range. I am very excited as I have been meaning to do this for ever!! I also went with a mix of my name and my business name.

It turns out that the back of the cards must all be the same, but the front can have up to 100 different designs. I only had time to create 10 designs, but that should be plenty to get me started. This is a bit of a test run for me. If they print up as well as I hope they do, then I plan to test out a few more products! Yippee!

Moo Mini Cards

Ok, so it turns out that a few child free hours with some wonderful friends is a too good a social opportunity to be missed.....I confess that we did not even get out craft things out of the bag!! We had a wonderful afternoon, but no craft stuff to share here!!

Thought I'd share some ideas I have been playing around with for some MOO MINI CARDS instead. Hope you had a great weekend. Anything creative happening at your place?

Multiple projects on the go at the moment....

I have been working on my submission for the NEW LOOK Style File Website. This is a wonderful website for Australian Children's Book Illustrators to showcase their work. It's currently in the process of getting a brand new look, so it's a wonderful opportunity for me to update my profile and images.

All of my opportunities to work with local publishers have come directly from my profile on this website, so it's a wonderful opportunity to get your work your work seen by the local industry. Once the new site is up and running you will be able to apply directly for a profile page, by submitting images to the panel for consideration. There are some fees and a few other requirements involved but I am sure that all of the details will be on the new site.

I will share a link to my profile page once it's up and running!

I am still buzzing about my visit to Raw Craft in Robertson over the weekend.

I can't stop thinking about it - for so many reasons.

I think deep down it's the kind of space I would love to open up myself....or at least visit and participate in regularly. It's probably somewhere around an hour and half from where I live, but I wish it was closer (or maybe that "we lived" MUCH closer?!!)...or maybe I meant to open up something like this locally?!! Or maybe it's just my dream work studio?! I don't's just sparked something in me.....

Anyway, I was lucky enough to spend some time chatting to the lovely Harriet herself and she was telling me about their Friday "Making Time".

It's an opportunity to bring along your craft, drawings and projects and to work and chat with like minded people. I just need this so much at the moment. We can even bring the kids (although I am not sure how much work would get done!)

I was also lucky to meet another fellow customer Sharon. We had such a lovely chat and I would love to keep in touch - so Sharon if you found this blog, drop me a line some time! I'd love to meet up again!!

Anyway, here's some more eye candy that I promised:

Don't you just want to sit down at those tables and get creative?!

I have a crafting weekend booked with some friends in a few weeks and now I am even more excited about it. Can't wait to share some pics of that too.

Yesterday we decided to check out the Southern Highlands Arts Festival Open Studios Art Trail! I have been looking forward to it for such a long time.

It's such a beautiful area and we were curious about the locations of some of the little studios tucked away bush settings like this:

I loved chatting to the artists about their processes and their different paths and journeys into the art world.

I had been wanting to visit this store in Robertson for some time and was delighted to finally set foot inside this treasure trove.

It's a collaboration between artists Harriet Goodall and Natalie Miller to create a working studio/workshop and shop front. It was sooooo inspiring. I will have to write another full post just about this store, but here's a few teasers....

Then things really got interesting....

We decided to visit one more studio on the outskirts of Berima (on the way home). It was a lovely print making and textile design studio. Well worth the visist.....but then when we finally went to get in the car to head home - IT WOULDN'T START!! We were stuck out the front of the lovely studios of Pattie Jones and Daisy Claridge for 4 hours!! (image sourced here

Pattie and Daisy (and their lovely husbands) were so good to us!
(Thank you all.)

They gave us food, drinks and even invited the children in to watch some movies while we were waiting! Country hospitality at it's best!

It started to get a big cold towards the end of the day, and we had not expected to be out all day, so we had to scrounge around for some warm clothes in the car and the bottom of the pram!! Hee, hee...such fashion divas!!

But alas, the adventure continued long into the night!!...

An hour in the tow truck to get to our home town...followed by a desperation dinner at McDonalds....

...and a taxi ride home to the farm....

(Looks like we had a bad batch of fuel in the car, so could be some serious damage...sigh...)
