1 Concert 3 Books and 2 Babies (?!)

I have faced a cold hard truth this week:My life will just always run at full pace! I keep dreaming of a time when things will slow down a bit, but I think the reality is that I just seem to create scenarios that make me busy ALL of the time! After three solid weeks of full time work and freelance jobs, I finally gave myself ONE FULL DAY OFF yesterday! I was so tired that it was not really like I had any choice about it!

We celebrated by going to a concert at my favourite venue in Melbourne - The Palais in St Kilda, last night. We went to see The Black Crows, and only realised on Friday that they were in town! We managed to get last minute tickets and our seats were amazing. The show was brilliant and it reminded me that I need to make more time for this sort of thing!

Freelancing has seen me finish off 3 books in 3 weeks! This is a record for me, and I have no idea how I managed to pull it off while working full time as well! (Actually I do! It's called NO SLEEP and working weekends!) Can't wait to share some images with you on these ones!

And to top things off, I have just taken on two more projects. (These are not my first thoughts on the themes - I just found some old concepts to illustrate my point!) I had planned to say no to more freelance work, (to have a rest!) but I can't resist the baby stuff! I love doing baby designs and I also enjoy working with this particular client! So I need to come up with two baby apparel ranges by early next week...and today has dwindled away on boring chores such as grocery shopping and cleaning....hhhhmmm yes, some would call that procrastination, but can you blame me?!

No rest for the wicked, hey?! Oh well, somehow I seem to be at my best when under the pump! Needless to say I have not had time to do another Inspiration Monday for tomorrow, but when I get things back under control a bit I plan to renew this feature day on my blog. Have a great week!

I feel like I have fallen off the radar of late! With the holiday in Tassie and the craziness of starting a new job, I haven't been able to keep up with the blogging world. But I am still here and have finally found some time to do a quick hello. I feel like I am out of the loop a little and I am looking forward to reading everyone else's blogs over Easter to catch up a bit too.

So - I am now into my second week at my new job and I just feel so lucky to have been given such a great opportunity. It's really odd being the new kid on the block again, and I can't wait to get some runs on the board. I am also really impatient to know everything now. I have to keep reminding myself to enjoy the process of learning, as it will always be an on-going process. I mean you never really know "everything" do you. Anyway, there are some wonderful people to learn from and I really feel like I can make a contribution too. What more could you want?!

I am still finishing up some freelance projects with two more books on the go. The first two in the series should be hitting stores in the next month or two, and I am due to get a box of them when they come in, so I promise to share them with you.

Anyway - I hate posting a stack of words without a picture, so I delved into the archives for some reference. This image is one of may favourite "reject" concepts from an apparel line I developed. I could not resist including the product application in this one! I can so clearly imagine the quality and finish of this item, but alas, it is destined to remain a concept only.

Here's a peak at some of the things I collected along the way on our Tassie trip:

1."Kowleidescope" Card by "Cards That Hit The Spot" in Hobart. I could not find out much more about these guys, but I saw their cards in quite a few shops in Hobart and loved them!
2. We could not resist these gorgeous mugs from Momiji. Check out there website here.
3. I picked up these trims at a little roadside market in the hope that I will be inspired to get "crafty". Check out Lil Davis Designs for more bits and pieces.
4. For some reason this book was on the sale table for $10 in a Hobart bookstore, and at that price I could not resist! I then saw it everywhere else for $25 so it's my bargain of the trip! I have already read it and there are some great tips in there. Grab a copy here if you are interested. It's published by Chronicle books and written by the clever Meg Mateo Ilasco. Check out her website here.

Here a couple more things that caught my attention in various shops!

Too gorgeous! See more here.

I am sure that many of you are familiar with this great business, as I have seen some of it on various blogs, but there's nothing like seeing the product in "real life" and holding it in your hands. I will have to buy some of this stuff as I love it. Visit the website here.

This is a Melbourne based company who I encountered at the Salamanca Markets in Hobart. I was really tempted to buy one of their bags, and will have to look them up here to see if I can get one locally. The website is well worth a look here.

Hello all! I am back - all relaxed and refreshed! Two weeks just felt like pure luxury! It's been nearly three years since we have had time off like that, so it was pretty fantastic!Tassie is a stunning place, and I can't believe it's taken me this long to visit it! It was pretty cold and it even snowed in places!! Very unusual for this time of year, and we seemed to have returned to a heatwave in Melbourne! It's a bit of a shock to the system!(I have picked some photos to share with you from the trip, so if you want a bit more detail on the trip, then check out the link below.)

Now, it's back to the "real world" and I start my new job tomorrow! I am REALLY excited, but I am also a bit nervous! I have basically worked with the same management team for the last 5-6 years, so it's going to be a bit strange being the "new kid" on the block again!

I also have to finish off the next two books in the six part series I have been working on (over the next few weeks), so my life picks up it's usual fast pace once again!

I hope you have all been well and I can't wait to check in with some of your blogs and emails again. Will let you know how the new job goes and will chat again soon!

Oh, and I can't help myself - even when I am on holidays. I found some great stuff for my "Inspiration Monday" in Tassie, so will compile some notes for you on that shortly too! Just wait until you see some of the "little treats" I bought myself!

In the meantime, check out some Tassie pics by clicking below!

We have decided that everyone in Tassie has a view! Everywhere is stunning and it doesn't matter if you live in a town, a city or the country, there just always seems to be something beautiful to look at. This was the view from our room on the very first night!

It's also impossible to take a bad photo with scenery like this!

Hobart is famous for it's Salamanca Market full of beautiful arts and crafts, but it was the food stalls that seemed to really capture my attention!

World Heritage listed forests and National Parks, and stunning coastlines....

Wilderness and wild life. Amazing stuff! Check it out if you ever get the chance!
